Fandango Appoints Rick Butler as COO
Los Angeles (PRWeb) November 22, 2006 -- Fandango, the nation's largest online, phone and mobile movie ticketing service, has promoted Rick Butler to the newly-created position of Chief Operating Officer of the company, reporting directly to Fandango Chairman & CEO Chuck Davis. Fandango is expanding its market share, now providing movie ticketing for more than 15,000 domestic screens, one of many strength indicators for the company.
As COO, Butler will work closely with Davis on Fandango strategy and leadership, and will be responsible for Fandango's day-to-day operations focusing on exhibitor relations, customer support, e-commerce and transaction processing, theater systems and corporate IT.
Formerly Fandango's CIO and VP of Operations, Butler brings over 20 years of experience in media and internet operations, technology solutions delivery and professional services to its management team. Prior to joining Fandango, Butler was senior vice president of operations for Financialprinter.com and regional vice president for Bowne Business Solutions.
Additionally, Shane O'Neill has been named as Fandango's Chief Technology Officer, a position that will report to Butler. O'Neill will be responsible for Fandango's website engineering, performance and availability.
Prior to joining Fandango, O'Neill served as the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President for Time Warner's Synapse Group, Inc., where he focused on enterprise architecture, application development and new product offerings. Before Synapse, O'Neill held positions with apparel manufacturer Warnaco Group, Inc., and Owens Corning.
"During this time of rapid growth, we are excited to benefit from Rick's expanded role and responsibilities and to welcome Shane to the family," said Fandango Chairman & CEO Chuck Davis. "As Fandango strengthens its market share and expands its product offering, Rick and Shane will be instrumental in catapulting our company forward online and in the entertainment arena."
